Geometric Reflections

In Geometric Reflections, I continued my exploration of structural forms, but with a shift toward a moodier and more atmospheric palette. This piece, part of my Geometric/Cubist Gallery, was created from my imagination rather than a reference photo. While it features the houses and architectural lines found in my other works, I intentionally chose a darker, more limited color scheme to emphasize the interplay between light and shadow.
A unique element in this painting is the inclusion of still-life vases tucked within the fragmented architectural forms. I wanted to experiment with flattened perspective and fragmented shapes, reminiscent of early 20th-century Cubism and Modernism. By using bold, opaque paint and simplified geometric shapes, I’ve tried to create a scene that feels both solid and abstract—a reflection on how domestic life and the built environment overlap in our memories.
